Manchester City Council approved the landmark Whitworth Street West scheme, which will deliver 364 flats and over 7,700 sq ft of internal and external amenity space across the lower three floors.
The development also includes new green public realm and improved pedestrian links connecting to Knott Mill and Deansgate.
Daniel Roberts, development director at Glenbrook, said that main contractor procurement would begin later this year, with a start on site targeted for Q1 2026.
Designed by Sheppard Robson, the building features a triple-height arched terracotta colonnade at ground level, echoing the nearby listed viaducts.
The scheme aims to exceed RIBA 2030 Climate Challenge targets through renewable technologies and smart building systems.
The tower forms part of Glenbrook’s wider pipeline, with nearly 1,800 homes currently on site and more than 5,000 in planning or procurement.
